-Entirely black, including the eyes, legs, and beak

*Ravens are larger, more slender, have longer and narrower wings, and have shaggy throat feathers.
*They also have thicker bills, sometimes with a hook
*Ravens make a call that sounds like a short “squawk” or "croak", whereas crows make a “caw” sound
-Often found alone or in pairs in rural or natural areas across western and northern North America, all the way up to the Arctic Circle
-Being quite intelligent birds, they are known to mimic calls of other birds and even human speech
-The majority of the diet is made of animal matter, such as insects, eggs, birds, and carrion
-Nests are usually in coniferous trees or in cliff ledges
-Nests are bulky baskets lined with grass, bark strips, animal hair, and moss
-Offspring: 4-6 eggs incubated by the female
